Intimate portraits are about giving yourself permission to really see the beauty in the body you were given.
Giving a huge middle finger to the things that society tells us are or are not beautiful.
Having an intimate portrait session, being photographed by a stranger - it's really an incredible experience. I had the opportunity this summer to be photographed by intimate portrait photographer Teri Hofford.
At my image reveal, Teri showed me that one thing I had never seen - how a complete stranger saw me. I wasn't seeing myself in a mirror through the lens of my own self-doubt. I didn't see all the put-downs and lies from my past. I didn't see the loose skin on my stomach, or the fact that one of my eyes sits higher on the face than the other. I didn't see any of my own perceived imperfections. I saw myself through Teri's lens. I saw my beautiful skin glitter (freckles - thanks for that one Teri!!), and the femininity and confidence I thought I'd lost. I saw a woman that had survived.

...about loving on your body, and treating yourself with kindness.
They're about shutting up that Negative Nancy in your head telling you you're not good enough, beautiful enough, worthy enough.
...for shedding your inhibitions, and being vulnerable in front of a stranger. It's an experience that changes you.
Boudoir and intimate portraiture isn't just about taking sexy pictures for your significant other anymore. It's about celebrating you, celebrating how far you've come compared to where you were.
It's about empowerment, feeling good about yourself, and most importantly, an excuse to just let go and have some FUN for once!
At Erika Gayle Photography, we have a home-based studio located centrally in the Cathedral neighbourhood of Regina, SK.
This means you only have to come to one place for your hair and makeup, your shoot, and your reveal!
We are also home to three kitties that sometimes end up photo-bombing during sessions because they love saying hi!
If you have allergies to cats, alternate arrangements can be made for your session for an additional fee.
While Shawn and I work as a team for weddings and engagements, fear not! Shawn gets the boot any time it's a shoot day so it'll be just us ladies in the studio for your comfort and privacy. 😉
We offer a selection of custom fine art albums to display your beautiful images with pride. A basic album includes 10 images, a linen cover, and all corresponding digitals from your album images. Leather and Bamboo covers are optional upgrades, and additional images may be added to your album for an additional fee.
Samples of all available products will be available for you to view on your session date, as well as at your Image Reveal.
Not into albums? No sweat! We also offer beautiful Metallic Gift Prints, Matted Prints, and Metal Wall Art.
In the age of digital files, print has become a critical step in archiving your portraits. Digital files can be corrupted, lost, or accidentally deleted in an instant. Printing your photographs is the only way to ensure you'll be able to view your images in 5, 10, or 50 years from now.
Do YOU remember the last time you used a floppy disc? Me, neither. The point is, as technology changes, there's no guarantee you'll be able to access your photographs unless they're in printed form.
Yes, of course! However, I highly encourage you to select between some of our print options. Corresponding high-resolution digital files are included with each print product purchased. Pricing per digital file starts at $125.
Sessions start at $375 for a 90 minute session. We are a print based studio and prints and digitals are NOT included with your session fee. To read our full session guide as well as view our entire product catalogue and price list, please see our session prep guide.
Our Session Guide includes information on how to choose your wardrobe, what to expect out of your Intimate Portrait Experience, and answers the rest of our most commonly asked questions.
I got you, don't worry! I'll pose you from the tips of your toes, to the way your hair falls down your back. I'll show you the pose, and guide you on how to replicate it for the camera. You'll never have to feel like you don't know what you're doing!
I recommend booking your session at the very least, two months before you want your prints back in your hands. This means if your wedding is in June, you should book your session date no later than April. Our shoot days at the studio are Sundays and Mondays.
YES!! Being nervous about having an intimate portrait session done is totally normal! Most of the women I photograph have never been photographed in a professional setting before, and most of them were nervous before their shoot, too! Even I get nervous sometimes in front of the camera... so don't worry! My main goal during any boudoir session is to make sure you're comfortable, feeling good, and having a good time. We'll have you laughing in no time, wondering why you were so nervous in the first place!
